Fort McKay Oil Services was built by community, for community. Our founders combine lived experience, industry knowledge, and a deep commitment to doing business in a way that strengthens people—not just projects.
A proud First Nation leader from Treaty 8 territory with 10+ years in the oil sands, including 7 years in supervisory roles. Shay combines industry operations, community leadership, and youth mentorship. He leads with purpose, champions local opportunity, and serves as a respected mentor and advocate for Indigenous prosperity in Wood Buffalo.
Shay Laurent
25+ years in oil and gas across drilling, SAGD/SAGD facilities, and workforce leadership. Billy leads operations with a focus on safety, reliability, and smart efficiency. He builds accountable teams, mentors emerging professionals, and drives sustainable growth through practical innovation and strong execution.

A proud Métis leader with 25+ years in community and economic development. Former President of the Fort McKay Métis Nation and founder of McKay Métis Group Ltd., the first community-owned Métis social enterprise. Ron continues advocating for Métis prosperity across Alberta through provincial leadership and strategic industry guidance.

Jessica Sweetman is a Chartered Accountant and financial leader with expertise in financial management and governance. As Chief Financial Officer of Fort McKay Oil Services Ltd. (FMOS), she oversees financial reporting, planning, and risk management. She supports transparency, accountability, and long-term growth.

Stan Laurent is a respected Elder of Fort McKay with over 25 years of experience in Indigenous business and oil and gas services. As Senior Business Advisor to Fort McKay Oil Services Ltd. (FMOS), he provides strategic guidance grounded in community knowledge and industry experience, supporting long-term growth and strong partnerships.

Armando Troconis is a Professional Engineer with over 25 years of experience across oil sands, heavy crude, and refining operations. As Senior Technical Advisor to Fort McKay Oil Services Ltd. (FMOS), he provides expert guidance in process engineering and regulatory compliance, supporting safe, efficient, and reliable operations.

Our strength is grounded in real operational experience. We understand the complexity of oil and gas development because we have worked at the executive, technical, and field levels within it. Today, that expertise positions FMOS as a trusted Subject Matter Expert (SME) not only in traditional oil and gas, but in the future of responsible resource development including critical minerals extraction and clean water innovation.
